Kit car, Montmartre

A lot of people deride the Lomo Lubitel as a toy, something that resembles a camera but could never be used for serious work, I beg to differ.
Whilst most of my work with the camera has been nudes – I’m not sure yet if I want to make this site unsafe for work hence no examples – I also use all three of my Lubitel models as walk around cameras, sure they can be a little tricky to focus so probably not ideal for street photography, but as here where the subject is stationary they can produce more than adequate results.
I used to wander the streets of Paris a lot looking for old cars parked up then I’d try to photograph them in such a way as to make it appear the image was contemporary with the age of the vehicle, avoiding any modern street furniture if I could.
The Lubitel proved perfect for this type of shot as shown, loaded with very old Soviet Svema films it transforms 2013 to anytime in the latter half of the 20th Century.
Another camera I haven’t used in a while, but I just dusted one off.
