Covid-19 has had a massive impact on the world, an impact that will be felt for many years to come and that has caused changes that may never be reversed.
One of the immediate changes has been the effect social distancing has had on the Fashion World most noticeably on how new collections are currently being shown, most if not all Fashion Weeks have had to reconsider their presentations and many have adopted a move to digital shows, London being a prime example which has also gone the extra mile by adopting a non gender approach and merging the men and women’s weeks.
At the time of writing it isn’t clear if this is now permanent or a reaction to current circumstances.
Since moving back from Paris I haven’t earned any money from fashion photography and fashion weeks here in London have become something of a busman’s holiday, allowing me to keep my hand in whilst staying in touch with the many friends I have made from across the world.
The above image of model Nicole Atieno was made during the last week I attended in September 2019, little did I know that it would be the last for the foreseeable future as I was forced to cancel my trip to AW2020 due to illness.
Here’s hoping that the outlook is brighter than it currently appears and I get the chance to do this again.
